CBD, THC and THCA are cannabinoids

Alta California Botanicals™ are formulated by CBD Science, LLC – www.CBDscience.com – using scientific research and clinical data available in studies and US registered patents.

Tinctures or CBMEs

Alta California Botanicals™ are 100% organic tinctures formulated to provide fast acting and effective relief. The active ingredients combine CBD, THC, THCA and other cannabinoids in five product formulations known for their health giving benefits.

These tinctures, also known as Cannabis Based Medical Extracts (CBMEs), are made form selected strains of organic cannabis plants cultivated using SafeCannabis™ practices. Available at licensed dispensaries throughout California, they contain cannabidiol, or CBD and tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, or THC, and THCA or tetrahydrocannabinolic acid as well as other minor cannabinoids and other active non-cannabinoid ingredients. Every batch is tested and quality checked at qualified laboratories such as Halent Steep Hill Laboratories in Oakland, and Marin Analytics in San Rafael, California. All phases of manufacturing are controlled and standardized for approximate dosage. Consistent extraction, use of all natural and organic ingredients and controlled blending makes these botanical drug medicine substances safe. Legally grown from selected organic cannabis, these CBMEs are standardized and made in accordance with modern hygienic standards.

CBD, THC and THCA are cannabinoids

Cannabis is the source of more than one hundred known cannabinoids. Only THC, the most well known cannabinoid causes psychoactive intoxication however, it has many other recognized health benefits. CBD and THCA along with other cannabinoids do not have psychoactive effects but are used in formulas for their proven beneficial properties. In recent decades, the scientific discoveries led by Raphael Mechoulam have led to medical advances in treating a variety of life threatening diseases using cannabinoid therapies. Mechoulam, an Israeli scientist, is responsible for the discovery CBD, THC and the endocannabinoid system in our body.
How do cannabinoids work?

What is CBD?

The pharmacological effects of cannabinoids are due to receptor systems in humans know as the endocannabinoid system. The effective sites are the CB1 and CB2 are located in immune tissues and organs throughout the body. The endocannabinoid system interacts with many other neurotransmitters and neuromodulator systems. It has been widely published in scientific literature that THC has pain suppression, anti-spasmodic, anti-tremor, anti-inflammatory, appetite stimulant, and anti-nausea properties. Research has focused particularly on CBD, which has shown in testing in scientific literature to have anti-inflammatory, anti-convulsant, anti-psychotic, anti-oxidant, neuroprotective and immunomodulatory effects. THCA is know to be an effective pain reliever and is often used in conjunction with other cannabinoids.

What other cannabinoids may be beneficial?

Medical researchers and major pharmaceutical companies world wide are developing a host of new cannabis based prescription drugs and treatment protocols for a variety life threatening and debilitating illnesses including cancer, ulcerative colitis, Type 2 diabetes, CNS disorders, including epilepsy and schizophrenia, and neurodegenerative disease. There are over 100 different cannabinoids that have been identified so far. Some of these cannabinoids include:
THC (Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol)
D8-THC (Delta-8 Tetrahydrocannabinol)
THCA (Tetrahydrocannabinol—Acid)
THCV (Tetrahydrocannabivarin)
THCVA (Tetrahydrocannabivarin—Acid)
CBD (Cannabidiol)
CBDA (Cannabidiol—Acid)
CBDV (Cannabidivarin)
CBDVA (Cannabidivarin—Acid)
CBC (Cannabichromene)
CBG (Cannabigerol)
CBGA (Cannabigerol—Acid)
CBGV (Cannabigerovarin)
CBN (Cannabinol)
